Developing and Supporting the Next Generation (Activities in FY2018)

Sponsorship of NHK Gakusei Robocon 2018

NOK has been sponsoring NHK Gakusei Robocon (Student Robot Contest) since 2015 as a way of supporting the next generation of engineers. The bold and free-thinking ideas of student engineers on display, along with their hard work, never fail to generate excitement among the audience. NOK sponsors this inspiring event to show its support. The 2018 Robocon took place on June 10 at Ota City General Gymnasium in Tokyo.

Sponsorship of Kids Engineer 2018

Since 2016, NOK has been a cosponsor of Kids Engineer, an event organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan to provide a hands-on learning opportunity for elementary school students. The aim of this event is to encourage children’s interest in various fields of science, technology and monozukuri (manufacturing skills), particularly around automobiles. In 2018, the event was held on July 27 and 28 at PACIFICO Yokohama, where we organized a program to help participants learn the “big roles” played by “small parts” in cars.
