    These lip seals were developed as seals for car air-conditioner shafts. They are made of material that is suited for sealing coolant and refrigeration oil, and also have a compact construction due to their unique design. In addition to preventing leaks from conventional mechanical compressors, they are also used to control the pressure inside electric compressors used on electric vehicles (xEV).

    Segment seals consume very little buffer gas. This feature is highly valued where toxic or inflammable gas is used. They are utilized in airplanes and rockets, such as the Japanese H-1 rocket, and in general industries such as ironmaking.

    When mounted in an engine, the brush seal keeps up with the changes in clearance between the stator and rotor and in eccentricity. With the excellent airtightness, the brush seal significantly improves the power and fuel efficiency of the engine.
    Brush seals have been used to reduce leakage of secondary air in the gas turbines of airplanes. Brush seals improved for use in gas turbines of large generators have recently replaced labyrinth seals in latest gas turbines.

    The amount of gas it produces, even in vacuums, is small, and it also exhibits high resistance against a variety of chemicals such as ether, ketone, amine, and oxidizers. Furthermore, it does not lose its rubber properties even when used at super-high temperatures while in contact with corrosive fluids. Therefore, Kalrez is widely used in a number of industrial fields such as semiconductor manufacturing, chemical transportation, nuclear, aircraft, and energy.

    Unlike conventional oil seals and mechanical seals, magnetic fluid seals are seals that maintain clean sealing performance achieved by fixing a magnetic fluid around the rotating shaft with a magnet to make fluid O-rings.
