Braided-reinforced PVDF membrane

Symmetrically-structured PVDF is used in NOK’s braided-reinforced PVDF hollow fiber membrane which achieves both scratch resistance and high flux. It enables MBR systems to be of compact size, high performance, and low cost. Our PVDF membranes continue to flow long after other competitor membranes have clogged, and have outstanding cleaning recovery rates.

Humidifying membrane module

Currently in series-production at NOK are humidifying membrane modules in the nano-filtration range. These are specifically used in fuel cell applications, and feature proprietary NOK technologies to produce superior performance. When this membrane is exposed to air containing water vapor (Wet Gas), the water vapor is condensed within membrane pores under the “capillary condensation theory” as represented by the Kelvin equation. This liquefied water quickly permeates into membrane pores and becomes water vapor again at the membrane’s inner surface. This water vapor is then transferred to the fuel cell stack by supplied air (Dry Gas).
