80 years have passed since then.
As the first oil seal manufacturer in Japan,
we have been improving our unique technologies during those years.

Signature
80th anniversary is the starting point of embarking on a new journey toward our next dream. The silhouette of 80 of the signature expresses a rainbow bridge to the future and the path of value creation reflected on the surface of the water. It is representation of our commitment to fulfill many more dreams as well as pass on our unique technologies and values that we have developed in our dream journey to future generations.

NOK celebrated its 80th anniversary on July 9, 2021. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all our customers, stakeholders, shareholders, suppliers, local communities, and our employees, for their support to date. Founded as Japan’s first oil seal manufacturer, NOK has been operating its business to pursue its dreams in an ambitious manner to become a company that all our stakeholders can take pride in.
Towards our 100th anniversary in 2041, we will address social challenges, provide beneficial products backed by our technologies, and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. We will continue to pass on our dreams to future generations.

Next-Generation Vehicles
Expand the possibility
of a new mobility society
Next-generation vehicles are becoming widespread, with the aim of achieving a low-carbon society. We are engaged in developing new products and technologies, such as low friction seals that contribute toward improving fuel efficiency and decreasing electricity consumption by reducing the loss of driving force, and seal products and greases that help to improve quietness, corrosion resistance, and heat management, which are required by electric vehicles (EVs). By doing so, we aim to contribute to a safe and comfortable future mobility society.

NOK’s products that support dreams
of space development
Eagle Industry Co., Ltd., a NOK group company, is engaged in research and development, and production of mechanical seals used for aircraft and space rocket engines. Their seals function stably even under harsh conditions, such as extremely low or high temperatures and high pressure, which allows engines to perform at their best. This technology is expected to be used in next-generation space development and will support future industries.
Power Generation Equipment
Eco-friendly technology that
supports our daily lives
O rings and other seal products, lubricants, and functional membrane products are widely used for power generating equipment and peripheral devices used in renewable energy technologies such as wind and solar power generation, as well as for fuel cells. We will continue to engage in technology development based on our core technologies to contribute toward enhancing eco-friendly and sustainable living.
Robots
Robots that assist
the human workforce
As Japan is facing a super-aging society, medical and nursing care workplaces largely expect robots to play a supportive role in a variety of services, such as remote diagnosis, which allows patients to visit a doctor remotely; surgeries which require delicate hand movements; assistance and monitoring of people in need of nursing care; and rehabilitation support. NOK is developing flexible printed circuits (FPCs) and rubber electrodes for biosignals intended for use by such robots.
