Quality Management System

In order to continue to supply products that meet customer needs, NOK has established and operates a quality management system based on international standards such as ISO 9001, and is working to continuously improve the system.
In addition, the director in charge of quality at NOK is responsible for the planning, coordination, and promotion of quality assurance for products of Group companies. In accordance with the NOK Quality Assurance Policy, we have developed a quality assurance activity plan (QA activity plan) and conduct quality assurance diagnosis (QA diagnosis) on site in a planned manner.
Our mother plants in Japan play a leading role in supporting the establishment of overseas product transfers, promoting priority quality issues, and resolving quality problems. The Quality Control Office is also involved in promoting important issues.

NOK Group QC Circle Meeting

The NOK Group conducts QC Circle activities as quality improvement activities in small groups led by employees. The QC Circle is a place where all members of the circle work together to solve familiar themes in the workplace. It is also a place where members grow and develop their personalities through activities, and it leads to the vitalization of the workplace.
This contest started in 1963, and QC circle activities are widely held at many bases and group companies in Japan and overseas.

In-house Quality Award System

In-house Quality Award System

The NOK Group introduced an in-house quality award system in fiscal 2008 to stimulate quality improvement activities and increase motivation. In order to raise the quality awareness of all NOK Group employees in Japan, the program encourages employees to apply for the program at the level of their immediate activities and organizational units. Every six months, the program recognizes organizations that actively promote these activities and achieve outstanding results. Examples of improvements are also presented in the company newsletter. To date, we have received awards not only in the production divisions of our business divisions but also in the distribution divisions. We use this system to help create a work environment in which all divisions, both direct and indirect, promote quality improvement.
